WELCOME TO BERCHMANS BLOG

Dear Friends and readers,

Peace of Christ to you.

Thank you very much for visiting this site. It is a humble effort to tell you about who we are & what exactly we do at
BERCHMANS TRAINING COLLEGE.
This place began as a Juniorate way back in 1998; developed into a hub for juniors after their novitiate. Ever since then it is bubbling with life and activities.
The Juniorate was named after a young Jesuit Saint St. John Berchmans SJ. There are several Churches, schools named after him all over the world.
He is the patron of young boys apart from alter servers. He decided to, "... pay the greatest attention to the least of God's inspiration." In other words: doing ordinary things in the most extraordinary manner.

BERCHMANS TRAINING COLLEGE
Pune, Maharashtra, India
Main purpose is the formation in humanities, the development of language skills, literature study, human sciences... It's the time to acquire study skills, to discover, to re-define & reach out for the magis. Juniors are helped with study methods to foster creativity and personal reflection. The Ignatian Pedagogy Paradigm(...)offers a method of study, progressive integration of life in spirit& deepening apostolic involvement in the juniorate. The integration happens with a regular personal prayer, silence, discerning attitude-Union with God.Thus the young Jesuit is to be helped with personal guidance to find God in his studies, personal history & the joyful, painful events in the lives of others. The Junior tries to deepen his knowledge of Ignatian Spirituality, a serious study of the Society's history-universal and local traditions. Juniors are to be introduced to various media of communication, special emphasis on rural and group media. A general introduction to South Asian Art, History, Culture, Music, literature are to be integrated in the juniorate programme. CONSTRUCT: Fr. Anil C'Narayan SJ; Photos: Fr.
